I Forgot

I Forgot

During the UT/ILP Investment Sales Master Class (available with IBF funding) homework assignments are given on three occasions. The homework assignment always consists of role play. During role play, financial advisors use the sales aids provided to convince the customer to invest for the long-term and top-up the portfolio when markets are down.

In yesterday’s class, being conducted at the Great Eastern office at PLQ3, I forgot to assign the homework assignment. I forgot because of the high calibre of questions being asked by the wonderfully varied and inquisitive audience.

Director Benny Kee asked a very relevant question on the popular adage linking a falling market to catching a falling knife. Director Vincent Tan gave me the homework assignment to show me how long-term investing. A 34-year veteran of the industry, Preathiwy Raj shared his perspectives while Calvin asked many good questions. Whether they were in the front row or the back, the entire class participated. When participants ask questions, everyone learns. Amidst this tremendous learning experience, I forgot to assign the homework assignment.

This is the first time in more than 75 iterations of this class, that this has happened. I hope I am forgiven.
