We Learn From Financial Advisors
Teaching and learning go hand in hand. While I teach the UT/ILP Investment Sales Master Class (available with IBF Funding), I also learn from the experience and ideas of advisors who attend the class.
Recently I was conducting a follow up call to showcase our software solutions:
1. The Investing Game – used to explain investing in a realistic, simple and fun manner.
2. Fund vs Benchmark Database (FvBM Database)- used by advisors from Manulife, Great Eastern, AIA and Prudential for professional fund screening and selection.
During the call the advisor told me that we provided her a framework on how to talk on investments. The advisor shared that while her insurer provided factsheet, product brochure etc they did not give her a process on how to actually talk to the customer on investments. The advisor added that our placemats on long term investing provided her with a document which she could use with customers. By using this same process and placemat with many customers she could further hone her skills in discussing investments.
Though I am the creator of the Master Class, I am delighted to receive new insights and new ways to interpret the content from financial advisors who attend the class. Truly teaching and learning go hand in hand.
