That One Kernel of Kindness
Two years, three months and twenty seven days ago, on 25 March 2019 I conducted a presentation to Benny Tay, a senior FA Director from Prudential and his managers. One of the managers who attended was Magdalene Chia.
Magdalene Chia must have found the presentation to be useful, for she reached out to me and asked me to connect with another Director, Leong Sow Hoe, who was also President of the Insurance and Financial Planners Association of Singapore (IFPAS). I met Sow Hoe and his colleague Allen and shared with them the New Light approach to investing. At this meeting it was decided that I would showcase my presentation, The Truth about Long-Term Investing to the IFPAS education committee.
On 5 July 2019 I presented to IFPAS education committee. It is here that I met Wee Yeap, Eng Beow, Lawrence Koh, Carlos Lim and many other stalwarts of the insurance and financial advisory industry.
Fast froward to 2021. In April of this year the New Light UT/ILP Investment Sales Master Class was conducted for 35 financial advisors from Sow Hoe’s TAGroup. Earlier this month, the Master Class was conducted for 15 financial advisors from Wee Yeap’s team at Infinitum Financial Advisory.
Magdalene Chia’s one act of kindness has travelled far. Fifty financial advisors have benefitted from her selfless sharing and so will many more. I have met so many stalwarts from the insurance and financial advisory industry due to the kindness of Magdalene.
One kernel of kindness can produce a bountiful harvest. Spread kernels of kindness every day and make the world a better place.
